Self Referral

Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP. However, there are a number of local services, listed below, that you are able to make self referrals to.

SelfHelp – Improving Mental Health

Our Talking Therapies services offer one-to-one support and structured courses for anyone experiencing common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. They are available to anyone who is registered with a GP in Manchester or Stockport, and is aged 18 years and above.

Podiatry – Stockport

Podiatry is the medical discipline which deals with foot related health and disease. The word podiatry has largely replaced the term chiropody by professionals. Podiatrists specialise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of problems affecting the foot and ankle. Patients can self-refer for a triage assessment by phoning the Podiatry administration number shown below.

First Contact Practitioner (FCP) Physiotherapy Service

If you are suffering from joint, bone or muscle problem you can ask our reception staff to book you an appointment to initially speak with a physiotherapist, who can then book you an actual appointment if required.
