In the past year 1.5.2018 – 30.4.19 there have been one significant events raised that related to infection control within the practice. This was risk assessed as low and rectified immediately with no harm to staff or patients.
The practice is audited externally by Stockport’s Public Health Nurse Gill Marriott. We also complete our own internal audits and records are kept at each of our Edgeley, Delamere and Lowfield sites.
Delamere Practice was inspected by Stockport Public Health Katrina Marsden on 25th May 2018.
Edgeley Medical Practice was in inspected by Stockport Public Health Katrina Marsden on 15th March 2018.
Lowfield Surgery was in inspected by Stockport Public Health Alison Ricketts on 13th October 2017.
We will aim to do more to share information with our patients and will therefore place a copy of this Annual Statement on our practice website and will notify patients of any seasonal outbreaks that they may need to be aware of via posters in the surgery and on our website.
Risk assessments are carried out by Stockport Council’s Public Health Nurse so best practice can be established and then followed.
The practice also undertakes its own risk assessments on a routine basis and immediately following any significant changes.
We have a weekly check list completed by our cleaning contractors and monitored by Health Care Assistants (HCA’s) at each site. HCA’s are responsible for monitoring standards of infection control against practice policies.
We will invite public health to provide a training session in the practice for staff.
Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
